I just want to take a moment to shout out the incredible talent and professionalism of my photographer, Rob Sims. I travel all the way from Ireland just to shoot with him — that’s how much I value what he brings to the table.
Rob isn’t just someone who knows how to capture the shot — he knows how to bring out the best in his models. Thanks to his vision, creativity, and dedication, I’ve been lucky enough to be published in THREE magazines, including one all the way in Thailand. That kind of exposure wouldn’t have happened without him.
If you're a model looking to elevate your portfolio and work with someone who genuinely knows his craft — I couldn’t recommend Rob Sims more.
Thank you, Rob, for believing in me, pushing me creatively, and helping make my goals a reality! I can’t wait for our next shoot!
I can't believe how amazing it has been to work with Rob! Our adventure kicked off at Starbucks in Saint Pete's, Florida, right before my shoot, where I got my very first posing lesson—what an experience!
From that moment on, we ended up shooting three more times that weekend, and I can't express how grateful I am for it! Each set of photographs just kept getting better and better. A few weeks later, we captured a stunning sunset in Orange Beach, Alabama, and guess what? Those gorgeous photos were featured in American Curves magazine!
Rob isn't just a fantastic photographer; he's an incredible teacher and guide. Thank you, Rob, for steering me in the right direction on this exciting journey! I truly appreciate everything you've done for me, and I can't wait for our next shoot together!
I met Rob in 2021 through social media. He had reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in doing a shoot with him after seeing me in competition in Washington State.
I was a bit apprehensive because I didn't feel I was model material. We chatted over the course of several months, and after seeing his work and interacting online with several of his models, I was really excited to jump on board with a shoot.
We chose the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, and from day one, I was captivated. The beauty of the scenery and Rob's tutoring made each day we worked together magical. Rob really is a craftsman when it comes to his work—his eye for detail, not only in his surroundings but also in capturing his subject’s best poses, is astounding.
I have since gone on to do two more shoots with Rob and have enjoyed the different atmospheres (Vegas and Mexico); however, nothing will ever top that first shoot at the Salt Flats. Absolutely magical.
Rob's professionalism and patience are unmatched, and I cannot wait to find out where my next location will be with the incredible Rob Sims.
Rob Sims is an amazing photographer and a supportive friend! I first met him after he saw me compete in a bodybuilding competition and he recruited me to start fitness modeling. I am so happy that I answered his call. I have since been published in American Curves three times! What a rush that is.
But my journey in modeling with Rob has been far much more than a publication! It has been filled with travel and adventure. I always wanted to travel and this was a perfect way to start. With Rob, I’ve been to Cabo and Barbados! And also all around the US! I saw my first ever fireflies with Rob when we visited Gettysburg, raced my car across the Bonneville Salt Flats, modeled on Bourbon Street hours after Hurricane Ida hit New Orleans, saw the Grand Canyon & Monument Valley for the first time, saw Niagara Falls from the US & Canada side, and experienced the beautiful mythical feeling of wandering around Montreal.
There have been many other amazing places too. Another beautiful and powerful part of this modeling adventure has been my self-growth. I have transformed into a more confident person, I’ve learned to speak my truth and have since traveled all on my own.
THANK YOU ROB for being an integral part of my transformation!
I first connected with Rob Sims through a Facebook chat before competing in my first national NPC show. He reached out asking if I’d be interested in doing a shoot in Pittsburgh right after. Honestly, I was a little hesitant about meeting a stranger to photograph me, but after a phone call and a great conversation, I decided to go for it.
When we met, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He was kind, professional, and made me feel completely at ease. That first shoot was such a turning point for me. He helped draw out genuine expressions and captured my physique in a way I’d never seen before. It gave me so much confidence and sparked a deeper interest in pursuing modeling.
Since then, we’ve done four more shoots together—each one better than the last. I tend to open up more as I get to know someone, and working with him just keeps getting easier and more fun. He’s always reminding me (with a little sass) not to fall back into my stage posing habits—because modeling is a whole different world! But it’s all said with encouragement, and I know it’s because he genuinely wants me to succeed and create beautiful images my supporters will love too.
After having bad experiences with the first Salt Lake City, Utah photographers and feeling like I would give up, I decided to take one more leap of faith and shoot with Rob Sims Photography. I had seen what Rob Sims had done for Katerina Schload and talked with her about him. Katerina told me that after shooting with many Utah photographers, she had gone out to Malibu to shoot with Rob and it paid off immediately. Rob has under-promised and over-delivered.
Rob Sims photographed me three times — twice in Utah at Saltair and the Bonneville Salt Flats at Wendover, and once when we traveled together and shot all over California in the deserts and on the beaches. These photo shoots were the most enjoyable times of my life and ended up with over 5,000 usable high-quality photos that I had full rights to.
Rob Sims is a very highly trained photographer with a lot of experience. He knows everyone of importance in the business and can make or break your fitness career. I personally learned so much from him, and I'm sure if you give him the chance, he will help you get to where you need to go quicker and more efficiently than anyone else out there.
As every other fitness model or celebrity will tell you, Rob Sims is a photographer — not a graphic artist. His images come straight from the camera and are not retouched, and they don’t need to be. Rob Sims is a true photographer and is the world's best at what he does.
I advise any of you models, male or female — if you want to make it at all in this business, you need to shoot with the best and most experienced. And without a doubt, Rob Sims is that person.
I knew from the first moment that I met Rob Sims, we were going to have an amazing adventure together! I met Rob at the Arnold Classic in 2014 and from that day on, my entire path was changed for the better. Rob is an extremely professional man who is always “to the point” with his words and his actions. As a master of photography, he has an incredible ability to learn about his models in order to help them become all that they are destined to be. Rob has a gentle but assertive way of encouraging his models to go beyond their fears, push past their limits, and find their own personal freedom in being all that they have the potential to be.
Rob and I connected immediately, and I realized quickly that not only could I trust him, but that I was about to learn a lot about fitness modeling and about myself — all at the same time. Fitness, nutrition, and living a healthy lifestyle have always been a part of my life. My background is in dance, mostly ballet, as I trained intensively for 14 years starting at a young age. I have always been an athlete. I rowed on a crew team in college and played a variety of sports throughout my life. However, I decided to start competing as a Figure athlete just within the past two years, starting in April 2013. I had immediate success and have continued to train as an athlete and compete at the national level as a Figure Competitor.
I was very interested in pursuing a career as a fitness model. I had done shoots with a few other photographers and had created some beautiful pictures, but nothing ever came of them. As soon as I started working with Rob, we began developing a solid plan outlining the path I wanted to take for my modeling career. It was then that everything started to fall into place. I continue to shoot with Rob and am building my portfolio as a fitness model with many different looks — from bikini to gym shoots to more elegant images. Rob is amazing at finding just the right locations for our shoots so that the final images really capture the model’s strongest attributes and pair them with stunning background scenery.
My most recent competition took place in August 2014 at the Tahoe Show. I took first place for my class, Masters Figure 35+, first place in the Open class, and first place as the Overall Figure Champion of the show. It was an amazing accomplishment! I am preparing now for my next competition, which will take place in seven weeks. From there, I plan to compete at the national level again in July 2015.
I truly believe that everyone has the potential to set goals for themselves and reach those goals if they are willing to put in the work it takes to get there. I have had many obstacles thrown my way, starting at a young age when my mom died suddenly when I was just 8 years old. I have had to work hard for everything that I have wanted in my life — whether it was earning my Master’s degree in Speech Pathology, raising two daughters as a single mom, or working multiple jobs to earn enough money to compete and pursue a career in fitness modeling. These are components of my life that are truly important to me. I am willing to give all of my goals 200% of my drive, passion, and motivation. I feel so rewarded when I receive feedback from people telling me that I “inspire” them. Whether it comes from my daughters, from people within the fitness world, or even from my autistic students that I work with — inspiring others is what fuels me.
I am looking forward to continuing to work with Rob Sims as I build my fitness modeling career. We have a solid connection that makes working together feel so easy. Rob has an incredible way of connecting with his models and truly helping them reach their highest potential. I know my future has many wonderful blessings in store for me. I am excited beyond belief to be one of Rob Sims’ models and to continue to work hard and progress on my amazing modeling journey.
Rob is the total package in the industry — he is REAL, FRESH, INNOVATIVE, and beyond talented. I’ve been modeling for many years, but I hadn’t shot in a while. I took a hiatus, thinking maybe I had aged out, that perhaps I was getting too old to stand in front of the camera — especially since I turned 50 this year. Let me tell you how wrong I was once I had the opportunity to shoot with Rob.
I was reluctant, not because of Rob, but because of my own negative self-talk about my age. But when I decided to go full force into this opportunity and got in front of Rob’s camera, the entire room became energized and full of excitement. You could feel the creativity come ALIVE. I felt immediately comfortable, as if I had known him forever. I quickly discovered Rob doesn’t just take pictures — he creates magic with the lens. He’s a brilliant photographer, and it shows.
I thought I was taking a huge “positive” step just by showing up, but the shoot exceeded every expectation I had. It was incredible. I feel so fortunate to have had this opportunity. Rob Sims has been a complete breath of fresh air — fun, funny, professional — and he’s never fallen short on his promises. He exceeded all my expectations, and I’m honestly amazed by his talent.
Not every day does a girl from Indiana, at 50, get the chance to meet someone like Rob — someone with his caliber of talent. If you’re considering working with him, trust me — don’t pass it up. It’s the chance of a lifetime.
Over the years, I’ve worked with several photographers. The best way to describe it is this: none of them compare to Rob. He has the rare ability to pick up on emotion, bring it to life, and translate it into sizzling, hot, unbelievable images. The first time I saw the results, I was blown away — I couldn’t believe it was me. These were real images — no editing or manipulation. I had never worked with a photographer who didn’t rely on edits. Again, I was hesitant at first, being 50 and out of practice, but WOWZA! His work speaks for itself. Rob has pure talent behind the lens.
These are the best images I’ve ever taken — and they were straight out of the camera! Not only is Rob by far the best fitness photographer, he’s the best photographer I’ve ever worked with in the entire industry.
Rob Sims Photography is not just an amazing studio — Rob is an amazing friend, too. I truly look forward to working with him again in the future. Thank you so much, Rob!! You’re brilliant!!
With respect.
Working with Rob Sims Photography was a real pleasure and a true learning experience! Rob Sims knows the business inside and out, and offered honest, practical advice on how to grow and succeed in the very competitive fitness modeling industry.
His directional style helped me feel very at ease in front of the camera. Working with Rob, you can tell that he absolutely knows what works and how to showcase all the hard work you have put into keeping your body fit, toned, and in amazing shape.
Shooting with Rob, I felt beautiful, sexy, confident — and I know that I can achieve my dreams! Knowing of his experience as a world-class photographer, I was very excited and honored to be able to shoot with him.
There is no one out there who can help you reach your goals like Rob can. Apart from being the world’s most published magazine photographer, he is an icon in the business — and just meeting the man is worth your time. I highly recommend him to any fitness competitor, athlete, or model whose goal is to make a career out of what they love.
Girls, if you get the chance to shoot with Rob Sims Photography — take it! Thanks, Rob!!!
Working with Rob Sims Photography in Utah has been a truly amazing experience. He not only cared about where I wanted to go in the industry — he also made me feel like I truly belong. As a national-level figure competitor, I’ve set a couple of goals for myself: one is to strive every day for my pro card, and the other is to inspire people to live a healthier lifestyle. Working with Rob, he has taught me that there are many different ways to achieve those goals.
I know he will help me make a name for myself in the fitness industry, enabling me to reach more lives than I ever could before. The best part is he genuinely enjoys helping people — or in his words, “watching them fly.” Rob does not edit my photos or anyone else’s. This truly shows the hard work we have put into our bodies and offers a realistic view of what being fit really looks like.
Of all the photo shoots I’ve done, Rob made me feel and look better than ever before. I would recommend him to anyone, knowing he always has his clients’ best interests in mind and is consistently respectful of their personal limitations. I look forward to working with Rob many more times, and I consider him not only my photographer but my friend.
Thank you so much, Rob!! You're brilliant!!
The Bonneville Salt Flats are like nothing else on earth—stunning, surreal, and almost otherworldly. But as breathtaking as the landscape was, it was working with Rob Sims that truly made the experience unforgettable.
From the moment I arrived, Rob carried himself with such extraordinary professionalism and calm presence that any nervous energy I had completely melted away. He was soft-spoken, incredibly respectful, and carried a quiet confidence that made me feel instantly safe and appreciated. There was no ego, no pressure—just genuine excitement about creating something beautiful together.
What impressed me most was how Rob seemed to see beyond what was in front of him. He wasn’t just photographing a model in a beautiful setting—he was crafting a story with light, angles, and emotion. He gave just the right amount of direction, but always left space for creativity and personal expression. It felt like we were building something together, not just going through the motions of a shoot.
The Bonneville Salt Flats posed unique challenges—the intense reflection, the wide open space, the shifting weather—but Rob handled it all like a master. He knew where the sun would fall, how to frame the horizon line for dramatic effect, and when to let the wind be part of the shot instead of fighting it. His eye for composition was unmatched.
And yet, for all that technical expertise, it was his demeanor that left the deepest impression. Rob was warm, funny in a quiet and charming way, and always attentive. He knew how to bring out your best without ever making you feel forced or overly posed. He respected my comfort level at all times and made the experience feel empowering instead of intimidating.
Throughout the day, he created an environment where I felt like the best version of myself—not just as a model, but as a woman. There’s a kind of magic that happens when a photographer truly sees you, and Rob has that rare gift. The photos we created together are still some of my favorites to this day.
If you're ever lucky enough to shoot with Rob Sims—especially at a location as awe-inspiring as the Bonneville Salt Flats—say yes without hesitation. He’s not only an amazing photographer but a genuinely kind human being who brings out the best in everyone around him.
I truly don’t know where to begin when describing my experience with Rob Sims Photography and his entire staff! In the past, I’ve shot with several different photographers, and the best way to put it is that none of them hold a candle to Rob Sims. Sure, Rob has thousands of tear sheets and hundreds of covers in some of the most sought-after magazines around the world — but that’s not what makes him great beyond measure.
Rob Sims Photography has the ability to pick up on an emotion, bring it to life, and chronicle it in the form of an image. Shooting with Rob is a liberating experience — no holds barred. He’s not looking for that cookie-cutter mold that most photographers want to Photoshop you into. Rob has the ability to bring out your inner sexy and lets you run with it, and he is technically perfect.
For a model, this translates into smoking hot images! The first time I saw the photos from my shoot with Rob Sims, I couldn’t believe it was me… They are the best images I have ever taken — and there was no editing! Rob Sims has taught me so much since the first time I spoke with him. He’s passed on some of the most valuable lessons this industry has to offer — which is one of the most important attributes of a truly great photographer.
Shooting a beautiful image will only get you so far if you don’t know what to do with it. Rob Sims Photography Studios is more than just an amazing photographer — he’s a fabulous person. I look forward to working with him exclusively and evolving more each time as a model.
Words fall short when expressing my gratitude and appreciation to the amazing Rob Sims!
Six years ago, I started competing in Figure and wanted to document my transformation. I had heard about Rob Sims—his name has been synonymous with the fitness industry since he began as the first photographer for Oxygen Magazine. I contacted him through IG, nervous and unsure if he would even be interested in shooting me. I was inexperienced and knew I wasn’t like those “other” girls.
After a month of coordinating, I managed to get on his books. He met me in Malibu, prior to our beach shoot. He had a most charming English accent and made me feel at ease immediately. He shared his background and encouraged me to be myself, never pushing me to do anything I wasn’t comfortable with.
Rob Sims works with natural light only. No extra cameras, no waiting for reflectors to be held at the right angle. He taught me how to bring my best to the shot, guiding me to pose in ways that highlighted my unique features. The feeling of tapping into my natural sensuality and connecting with the elements while shooting with Rob was unlike anything else. I discovered how to play to the camera, channeling my hottest and sexiest vibe. Looking back at our shoots, I can literally see my progression—confidence growing, understanding deepening.
Rob Sims has taken an endless amount of time teaching me how to be a champion-level fitness model. He’s taught me about video, speaking on camera, and always brings laughter and fun to our sessions. He’s positive, encouraging, honest, and direct—he makes you work. This isn’t play. But it is playful. It’s real. Real and sexy. Exactly what you want in your portfolio.
The shots you’ll get are the ones where your chin drops and you say, “That cannot possibly be me!” But you must be ready to shoot with Rob Sims. Clean up your diet. Be lean. Get the darkest tan you can. Perfect your hair and makeup (learn how to do your own). Don’t be stiff. Take direction and flow easily. Stretch yourself in every way imaginable.
I’ve been shooting with Rob for a year and a half now. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done. I love how I’ve come out of my shell and let my true, natural, sexy self just be on the shoot. He captures it all effortlessly.
Because of his photos, I now have a following, a recognizable name, a lineup of sponsors, and photos that have landed me jobs with top television networks and more.
Take a moment and think about what you want. Why are you doing fitness? You want that awesome body, right? Do yourself a favor and make sure you get the awesome photographer who knows how to create images you’ll look back on for a lifetime and love. You’ll want to keep shooting with him to maximize your potential in this industry—because that’s how it happens: the right photos, the right exposure, the right jobs... and success.
Thank you, Rob, for always being the BEST.
So many photographers and agents have promised me so many things. Rob Sims is the only one who has delivered all he promised—and much more! Within weeks of shooting with Rob, I appeared on MAV TV as promised, and from the incredible exposure it provided, I’ve booked gigs around the country that will keep me a busy working model all year.
Rob also got me sponsored, and now I’m being photographed for some of the largest companies around—including Sony, Sears, and Weider!
At the Arnold Classic Fitness Week competition in Ohio in Spring 2010, Rob personally took me by the hand and introduced me to over 200 sponsors and CEOs of nutrition and fitness companies, including one of his best friends and the owner of Oxygen Magazine, Bob Kennedy.
It was the opportunity of a lifetime, ladies! Don’t miss your chance to meet and work with Rob—he is the best and biggest connection you will ever make in the industry! I’m now exclusive with him, being published, and getting paid work.
Since writing this, my fitness modeling career has taken off even more. I’ve had to leave Salt Lake City and move to New York to work as a fitness commercial model—which is paying me a six-figure income. Without making the jump from the Salt Lake City photographers who promised but never delivered to Rob Sims Photography, none of this would have happened for me.
Rob Sims is now one of my closest friends. I consider him family—and I love him dearly!
I first met Rob Sims at my first national show in Las Vegas. He was quiet, calm, and incredibly caring. He approached me and said he’d seen me at a few shows and was wondering if I’d be interested in shooting with him.
I was honored—first, that he remembered me, and second, that he chose me! Typically, girls in this industry post their pictures all over the internet, asking and even paying low-budget photographers to shoot them.
Rob shared exactly who he was, what he’s done, and his credibility in the industry. I brought my husband over to meet him and asked if it would be possible for him to join us. It just felt like the safe thing to do—especially being in a different state and not personally knowing the photographer. Rob was kind and respectful of my request and said, “Of course, as long as he stays in the background.” We agreed that wouldn’t be a problem.
We met early the next morning and drove to a dried-up riverbank. We started the shoot right away. Since I was still pretty new to all of this, Rob was amazing at guiding me with poses, looks, and outfit choices. The shoot lasted four hours and was absolutely fantastic. I posed, flexed, smiled—and he just snapped away. He even captured some video footage. The four hours flew by.
His expertise and guidance really showcased just how much of a pro he is. Both my husband and I were very impressed. I got my photos back in three weeks—completely untouched, I might add—and they looked like they had been professionally retouched. I couldn’t believe how many beautiful shots he captured without any editing. That was beyond impressive.
A few months later, Rob asked me to shoot again—this time in Malibu. I felt comfortable enough to go alone. The settings he chooses, the time of day, the atmosphere—it all reflects the true eye of a professional. And the pictures… OMG. They were even better than the first shoot, if that’s even possible. He captured so many incredible shots—beautiful expressions, powerful body language—it was incredible.
Rob isn’t a pushy or overbearing person. He’s a gentle soul with a mission to create, teach, and showcase his artistry. A few months ago, Rob also set me up with my first real sponsor. To say I’m honored is putting it lightly. I was beyond grateful that such a prominent figure in the industry would help me.
I’m now officially sponsored by Gen X Labs and love their products and company. I can’t wait for my next shoot with Rob—to show him what I’ve learned, practiced, and all the new things I’m ready to explore.
One day after a weight training session, while sitting and chatting with my trainer in her office, she says, “Hey Deb! Rob Sims is coming to town. You might want to do a photo shoot with him.” I look up at the unbelievable photo of her that Rob took, hanging across from where I’m sitting, and think, “Who wouldn’t want to do a photo shoot with the famous Rob Sims?”
If you’re like me—soaking up anything ‘fitness’ online or in print—you can’t help but come across a beautiful shot taken by Rob Sims. I think to myself, “This would be a dream come true.” Driving home, though, doubts creep in. I’m no raving beauty or professional model. I know I look good, and I had been planning to reward my hard work at the gym with a shoot to document my dedication. But this is Rob Sims. I mean, the Rob Sims—who has photographed Katerina Schload and has an incredible number of fitness magazine covers to his name.
I send him an email, kind of explaining my situation. I mention that I’m not a model, I’m older, but I would love to do a shoot. He responds immediately, and before I know it, the shoot is scheduled. We meet at 1:30 PM at Katerina’s home, where I’m introduced to Rob and his team of professionals. I’m immediately put at ease by his friendly demeanor and sexy English accent.
We go over my wardrobe, and he’s pleasantly surprised by my selection—what a great feeling! I’m introduced to the other models and find out that Katerina herself will be shooting with us. Wow! The chance to watch a pro in action is a bonus and an incredible learning experience.
Amber Dawn Powell applies my makeup and styles my hair. When I look in the mirror, I can’t believe the woman I see. She’s worked wonders and created a beauty! We drive out to the Salt Flats, and the whole ride there, Rob and Katerina are sharing insights on how to succeed in the industry and how to use media to promote your brand. I feel like a sponge soaking up their wisdom.
Once we arrive, we walk to the perfect shoot spot. Amber helps with wardrobe and makeup touch-ups. I’m nervous—Rob seems to sense this and gently says, “We’re just going over here to take a few photos.” And he does just that. Not only does he take incredible photos, but he also has a videographer, James Powell, capturing the entire experience. I now have beautiful stills and a compilation video from this session!
More than I ever imagined has come from this opportunity. Rob was extremely professional in the way he communicated and made slight corrections to posture to ensure the best results. He reminded me that the best images come from the heart—not just from perfect posing.
Before I knew it, I was done with my first outfit. I then got to watch Katerina model, and Rob had me observe closely to learn from her experience. Her posing was masterful, and his ability to capture just the right moment was incredible. I changed into two more outfits and completed the shoot, feeling empowered and inspired.
On the drive back, I soaked up more invaluable business strategies and insights. In conclusion—if you’re considering a professional photo shoot, I highly recommend Rob Sims. You’ll get the absolute best the industry has to offer at a fantastic value, along with a team that will bring out the very best version of you.
You’ve worked hard, you’re in amazing shape—celebrate that with a top-tier experience. I know this: whenever I have the chance to shoot with Rob again, I absolutely will.
Should you have any questions, feel free to contact me on Facebook.
Thank you, Rob!
I have been in the industry for several years and have experienced the good, the bad, and the ugly. Anyone who has, can attest to the fact that it often becomes a very sterile environment, bereft of all artistic expression.
That said, working with Rob Sims Photography and his team was a refreshing, rewarding, and fun experience. I walked away with thousands of world-class photographs and appearances on three TV shows.
Rob Sims understands that in order to produce true art, everyone involved must have the opportunity to create and express together. He works with you as part of a team—not like most photographers who simply issue demands.
High winds of 60 miles per hour nearly blowing us off our feet, thunderclouds and rain—none of it stopped us. Every time the weather shifted, Rob quickly adapted and came up with a new vision to work with it.
I’ve shot with Rob Sims three or four times: on the Salt Flats, inside clubs, and every time it’s the same—exciting, fun, and filled with outstanding content. Rob is not only a great artist but a great person. He’s enjoyable, open-minded, socially aware, and genuinely funny.
If you want to go anywhere in the modeling business, stop wasting your time with guys who promise and never deliver. You, as a model, need to be photographed by the best professional you can find—and Rob Sims is that photographer.
Check out Rob’s resume and see for yourself: this man does it every day.
Rob Sims, thank you for all the opportunities!!!
I really enjoyed my photo shoot with Rob Sims Photography. It was my first photo shoot, and I didn’t have the slightest clue what to expect. I found Rob Sims and his staff to be very easy to get along with, work with, talk to — and ultimately, to shoot with. Rob and his team chose the perfect location, along with all the right clothes, makeup, props, and details.
We had a great variety of backgrounds without ever needing to leave the area. Rob just seemed to do everything so effortlessly — like it was second nature to him — and before I knew it, I was flowing from pose to pose. It was a stress-free shoot that went by relatively fast, and the natural lighting throughout the day was perfect.
Rob allows you to be creative, whether or not you feel like you are, and he has a true knack for capturing your personal expression and unique personality at just the right moment.
As everyone knows by now, Rob Sims Photography does not retouch — and doesn't need to. If you ever get the chance to shoot with this master photographer, take it. Rob will capture the greatest photos of you that you’ve only dreamed about — and he’ll also advise you on how to navigate the fitness industry.
I am so impressed with Rob Sims Photography and the work that he has done for me all over Salt Lake City and Utah. If I could post all of my pictures, I would — just for proof. Rob Sims gives you every picture that he takes, even the blinks, because he wants you to study them and improve — and they are all technically perfect.
Rob Sims is by far THE BEST photographer in the fitness business! He has told me since day one that I am in charge of my own success. If I want this bad enough, I need to go out and get it — no excuses. Rob has advised and helped me at no extra charge, and everything he says makes total sense.
He has been the starting point to get me on the path to success, and everything he says, he proves — and it’s true. I plan on working with Rob Sims Photography many, many times. He’s been like a coach to me as well. I’ve had a million questions, and he’s given a million answers — and has been so kind and patient with me.
You’ll be seeing a lot of me!! :) I would definitely take this opportunity of a lifetime with Rob if I were you — I would again and again!
I really enjoyed my photo shoot with Rob Sims Photography. It was my first photo shoot, and I didn’t have the slightest clue what to expect.
I found Rob Sims and his staff to be very easy to get along with, work with, talk with, and ultimately, photograph with. Rob and his team picked out just the right location, with all the right clothes, makeup, props, etc.
We had a great variety of backgrounds without ever having to leave the area. Rob just seemed to do everything so easily—like it was his way of life—and before I knew it, I was going from pose to pose. It was a stress-free shoot, went by relatively fast, and the lighting throughout the day proved successful.
Rob allows you to be creative, whether you feel as though you are or not, and he has a knack for capturing your personal expression and personality at just the right time... on film.
As everyone knows now, Rob Sims Photography does not retouch—or need to retouch. If you ever have the chance to shoot with this master photographer, you need to take it. Rob will take the greatest photos of you that you’ve only dreamt about and also advise you on the fitness business.
I have had so many photographers take my pictures, but I never realized how beautiful I could look until Rob Sims took my pictures. Katerina Schload, whom I trained, spoke to me about Rob Sims — and he was everything she said and more.
There is nothing better than looking much younger at the age of 48, and I was shocked to see myself look so beautiful and young. What more would a woman want? And the kicker was — they weren't even edited! As Rob Sims always says, he is a photographer, not a graphic artist — and now I see the difference. WOW!!!
I have done three photographic shoots with him, and all of them were fun and exciting. He also gives you every photo that he takes so you can study and learn from your mistakes.
I was very impressed with Rob’s professionalism and that he followed through with everything he promised me.
If you have the opportunity to work with Rob when he is in Utah, you need to take it. Working with him will change your life as a model — and you will learn the business!!
Rob Sims has been in the fitness industry for over 20 years. He knows everyone that is important and is an amazing teacher. Ask Rob any questions that you would like, and he explains everything to you.
As he says, it takes two years to make it as a fitness model if you do it right — and believe me when I say that Rob Sims Photography will make it happen for you.
Deb Arbs and Sandy Hancock informed me that the awesome Rob Sims Photography was coming into Salt Lake City and he had a few spots left. They both said that they loved shooting with him and that he was the very best in the business. I Googled him and found he’d photographed over 400 magazine covers and thousands of pages, so I called him up.
So that’s how Rob Sims conducted my first photo fitness model shoot I have ever done at the Bonneville Salt Flats, which is a densely packed salt pan in Tooele County in northwestern Utah, and he made it one of the most enjoyable and fun experiences!!
I have to admit that I was pretty nervous before the shoot since I didn't know what to expect and wasn't sure how comfortable I would feel in front of the camera. Rob took my hand and walked me to my modeling spot, and as soon as I got in front of Rob's camera, I felt immediately comfortable and forgot about all of the nervous thoughts that I had before the shoot.
I discovered quickly that Rob not only has incredible talent behind the camera, but he also has the ability to put models at ease in front of the camera so that they might discover their inner fitness model personality.
I look forward to future photo shoots with Rob, as I feel that he is key in helping me achieve my goals in fitness modeling.
Thank you so much, Rob!! You're brilliant!!
What an amazing experience it has been to work with fitness photographer Rob Sims of Rob Sims Photography Studios! I shot with Rob for the first time just a couple of months after my second NPC Figure Competition in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a novice to the fitness industry and a first-time fitness model, I had no idea what to expect.
Not only did Rob put me at ease, but he helped me find the confidence and freedom to express myself, despite my own self-doubts. Rob takes a personal interest in each of his models—emphasizing each woman’s unique strengths while teaching her how to improve as a model.
Rob strikes a careful balance between giving you the freedom to express yourself creatively and offering the technical feedback and direction necessary to create the best possible images.
One of the things I truly appreciate about Rob is his honesty. You always know where you stand, and you can count on receiving sincere, constructive feedback to help you grow and develop.
I was surprised to discover that Rob works just as hard—if not harder—than his models during shoots. He's almost as physically fit as we are! He’ll do whatever it takes to capture the perfect shot, whether that means crawling over rugged terrain or lying in a bed of cactuses.
Rob’s knowledge of the fitness industry is second to none. With his many years of experience, he offers guidance, suggestions, and support to help each model reach her personal goals and aspirations. He has a gift for identifying individual strengths and talents.
For me, he recognized something in my “gift of gab” and encouraged me to develop my skills behind the mic. So in addition to continuing my work as a fitness model, I’ve embarked on a new journey of interviewing, advertising, and promoting some of the hottest fitness competitors and nutrition companies in the industry.
I’m so grateful to Rob for recognizing my potential, encouraging me to follow my dreams, and working countless hours behind the scenes to help make it all possible.
Rob is truly a professional and a genuine person who sincerely wants to help others grow, develop, and live their passion. When it comes to fitness photography, there is no one better.
I consider it an honor and a privilege to have had the opportunity to work with Rob, and I look forward to continuing our partnership—both as a fitness model and a communications specialist. I'm excited to see where this fitness journey takes me and what new opportunities lie ahead.
Thank you, Rob!
I took a huge step into the unknown as I began modeling, and little did I know how fortunate I was to be straightaway introduced to ROB SIMS PHOTOGRAPHY!!!!!
Rob Sims has been a breath of fresh air to work with and has NEVER fallen short of helping me grow as a fitness model. Not only have I appeared on MAV TV five times as promised, but at the NPCs I have been introduced to several fitness models who have been published in magazines such as OXYGEN — all because Rob helped get them there. I have had the opportunity to meet Ruth Silverman, who writes for Iron Man Magazine, and several other CEOs and sponsors for major nutrition/fitness companies. Experiencing firsthand how credible and talented Rob Sims is made my choice of becoming one of his exclusive models a no-brainer. If you're considering working with anyone, ladies — don’t pass up a chance with Rob. It will be the best choice you'll ever make!
Rob makes every other photographer look like a cowboy, and I WOULD NOT shoot with anyone else and waste my time!!
Rob even introduced me to his Model of the Year and Utah’s top fitness model, Katerina Schload, who I have looked up to for a long time now. Katerina helped advise me about working with Rob Sims, and I even got the chance to go on location with them and model with her — which was amazing!!
Thank you, Rob Sims Photography Studios, for everything that you have done for me. You are by far the best and the 8th wonder of the world!!
